Come along to the libary for a fascinating Aboriginal culture program with storytelling, art and food tasting at Eastgardens Library.  Seats will be limited (children + 1 parent only if desired)

Term 2 School Holiday Program 2010 - Perler Beads Pattern

Do you want to have these School Holidays?  Now you have an opportunity to create a lovely Perler Beads pattern by yourself.  Make a booking and come along to our library at Eastgardens.

For children aged from 7 and over.  Booking is essential as places are limited (children only)

Entry fee is $3.00 per child per session (non-refundable).  Bookings need to be made in person to Candy.

Daceyville residents, past and present, we need your help

To celebrate History Week in September, 2010 and to ensure that the George Hanna Memorial Museum presents an exhibition that will bring out the history of Daceyville, we need a little help from Daceville residents - past and present.

If you've lived in the suburb, have any stories, photographs or objects connected to the neighbourhood, please contact the Museum's curator, Samantha Sinnayah on 9366 3802 or email: museum@botanybay.nsw.gov.au

While much formal documentaion exists on Daceyville, we're asking anyone connected with Daceyville to help the museum exhibit a more personalsied view of life in the suburb.

Law Quiz - Law Week 2010

As part of Law Week 2010, the library is running a Law Quiz with prizes of $100 to the first correct entry, $50 for second place and $30 for third place. Participants will need to use the "Find Legal Answers" collection in the library and their research skills to complete the quiz.

Entries close May 29th so don't miss out!

Movie Madness at Eastgardens Library

Eastgardens Library will be screening 2 films every second Thursday of the month throughout the rest of the year.

Movies will screen at 10:30am and 1:30pm.  You’re welcome to bring  your lunch to the library.  Tea and coffee will be provided.  These events are free.  Contact the library on 9366 3888 closer to the date to find out what films are on.

Books and Biscuits Book Club - May

The Eastgardens Library book club "Books and Biscuits" will be meeting next month on Friday, May 21st at 10:15am to discuss "Thirty Three Teeth" by Colin Cotterill, winner of the 2006 Dilys Award for Crime Fiction.  Copies of the book will be available to borrow on the reserve shelf.

Come along and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit and join in our discussion.  It’s a great way to meet new people, share your love of reading and give you ideas of books to read or avoid.

Special events in May 2010

National Families Week
Our library will celebrate "National Families Week" between 15th and 21st May 2010.  We will supply a Library show bag for each family on Friday May 21st after Storytime.  Bags are limited.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2010
National Simultaneous Storytime will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, 26th May 2010.  this year's title is "Little white dogs can't jump".  Parents and children are welcome to participate in our storytime.  Craft will be arranged for all participants after storytime in the Conference Room.  No bookings required.
