Books and Biscuits Book Club - July

The Eastgardens Library book club "Books and Biscuits" will be meeting next month on Friday, July 16th at 10:15am to discuss Classics.  Books will be available to borrow on the reserve shelf.

Come along and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a biscuit and join in our discussion.  It’s a great way to meet new people, share your love of reading and give you ideas of books to read or avoid.

Rewind, Pause, Play: 15 years of the George Hanna Memorial Museum

The City of Botany Bay has a fascinating history, and since 1995 the George Hanna Memorial Museum has been revealing it. In 15 years, the museum has held 26 exhibitions on subjects ranging from rugby league to factory life.

Rewind Pause Play presents 15 of the museum’s best exhibitions to celebrate its anniversary coinciding with the refurbishment of Mascot Library. The exhibit also travels into the museum’s future by asking you — the residents of the City of Botany Bay — to add your ideas and personal stories to this exhibition.  Come along and have a look, we hope to see you soon.

Mascot Library & George Hanna Memorial Museum Re-opening.

We are pleased to announce the opening of the newly re-furbished Mascot Library & George Hanna Memorial Museum to the public. The library now occupies both floors of the building and offers new facilities including study rooms, an expanded community language collection and an easy access elevator.

The museum is housed in the same building and is currently displaying an exhibition celebrating its achievements over the past 15 years named “Rewind, Pause, Play” with many interesting photos and items on display from previous exhibitions.

The library and museum are here for everyone to enjoy so please come over a take a look. We hope to see you soon.
